Tranquili-tea

What better way to spend your Wednesday afternoon with your best friend, tea and a whole stack of food by your side (well actually in front of you, he). On this sunny ass day, my best friend of 11 years and I spent about two to two and a half hours in this spacious, bright and tranquil cafĂ©/restaurant called Lewis & Carroll. The name of it is obviously inspired by the highly famous author, Carroll Lewis who wrote Alice in Wonderland.

When I first heard of this place, I thought the setting of this café would be similar to the Tea House in Sanderson's Hotel in London that has a Alice in Wonderland theme. All in all though, it was a pleasant visit because I had my best friend in tow! There's just nothing better than spending hours talking about everything and nothing with your best friend, innit? And the best thing was, I wasn't on my phone at all for the whole duration we were there. When you don't touch your phone for two whole hours, you know the company's great!

When we arrived, the place was packed to the brim. Thankfully we got a seat right next to the windows which led me to sweet my back off (literally, just my back), but the lighting there was incredible!

The second I sat down, it was down to ordering the tea before ordering the food. As you can see from the menu, they have various flavors of tea. Because they had tons of flavors that I haven't tried out yet, you could request from one of the waitresses to sniff all the teas, sounds weird, but it was a very cool experience. Then, one of the people there will give you these test tubes on a rack filled with different leaf teas that you can sniff before you order them!

Sadly, I didn't take a picture of what the test tubes looked like, because it was a hasty process. But the first one I picked up was the pink colored leafs, and it was of course the rose flavored tea called the Petals of Peace. How peaceful does that sound?! It was a combination of pink and red rose, with a dash of marigold as well! Definitely gonna go back to try out some of the other teas, because they all sound blooming delicious!

Now onto the fun part! The food that we ordered. I must say though, that for me, the food was average in taste, but it's worth a try at least once if you're visiting! Lewis & Carroll's specialty is definitely their tea (and their ice cream, we'll get on with that in a minute).

My friend ordered the Truffle Carbonara, which she said tasted A-okay, but of course, I didn't give it a try because I'm not a huuuge fan of pasta! We also ordered some Truffle Fries and Potato Wedges, because you can never have enough potatoes in your life, am I right?! As for what I ordered, it was a Crusted Grilled Chicken, that came with mashed potatoes and a mixed salad. The mashed potatoes I was not a fan of, but the chicken was quite okay! Not the greatest chicken I've eaten though.

Let's talk about the ice cream. I ordered two cups of em'. So I was really, really full when I got home, but it was so worth it! It's a gourmet ice cream by Eskimono. Because it is gourmet, it was quite pricy for the small scoop that we got. Anyways, I first ordered the Chamomile Honey flavored one, and let me just tell you, it was beyond orgasmic. Not much of a big fan of Chamomile tea, but in ice cream it tasted holy amazing, basically. My friend got the Earl Grey one, and at first, I was about to try that, but I was not a big fan of that flavor in tea. She recommended it though, so when I tried a teeny tiny bit of it, I was so shocked that it was oh so good! So a few minutes after I finished my first cup, I made a cheeky second order of the Earl Grey one. No regrets!

That's the end of it. I hope you didn't drool whilst looking through this post! Not gonna lie, currently drooling as we speak as I stare at the ice cream. Really, really wish I had a cup of it right now. Happy Friday, guys! Have a lovely weekend. ❤︎
