Best of: April '16

Closing yet, another month of 2016. Honestly though, why is time flying by so fast? Scares me how fast it's passing through. The month of April was a great un'. Filled with laughs and thankfully a whole lot of peacefulness deep inside of me. Despite that, there's a deep sense of restlessness deep inside me that can't be distinguished easily. Which sucks. And I have to remind myself that this restlessness over something so little and pathetic isn't going to kill me. I'll just have to try my hardest to battle through it and live in the moment. Not gonna let it define my life!

I hope you liked this post as much as I loved writing it. Do comment down below what your favorites were this month, I'll give them a look if I find it interesting or to my liking. x

TV Shows:

Angie Tribeca: A hilarious parody cop show created by Steve Carrell. I love all the characters here because trust me, they'll have you laughing on the floor for the 21 minute duration of the show. Rashida Jones is one hilarious woman and I just friggin' love her! She sorta reminds me of Zoey Deschanel somehow. The show also has some amazing guest stars such as; James Franco, Lisa Kudrow and Billy Murray to name some of em'. Give this one a go if you have time. Only 10 episodes long and each episode is only 21 minutes long. You're not gonna regret watching it!

We Bare Bears: I love bears. And although the show is actually for little kids, I just enjoy watching it when I'm feeling low. Grizzly, Panda and Ice Bear always manage to brighten up my day with their humor and nonsensical shenanigans. Only 11 minutes long, so I finished the first season in a matter of days. Plus, all the food the bears eat always look so delicious. I always order food after watching this show, haha!

Movies:

Pride and Prejudice: I actually watched this last March but forgot to write about it, so I'll just write it here cause I've watched it twice or three times this month (lol). I watched this because of Bridget Jones's Diary. And I must say, I'm still confused who I love more, Mr. Darcy or Mark Darcy? Let's just pretend they're related or something. The setting is beyond gorgeous. Keira Knightley is an amazing Liz Bennett, and can I just say, I've been playing the score nonstop eversince the beginning of April? It's such a great score, very calming and it makes your heart filled with happiness. I especially listen to it when I feel a bit rundown or am doing something challenging to relax myself, to calm down and not panic. All in all, a very great watch and I especially love the feminism theme in this.

Atonement: So I sorta went on a Keira Knightley binge after watching P&P. I loved Keira as Liz, but oh my, her acting in this movie amazed me. So this was a heartbreaking story, at least for me it is. Quite graphic and gory, but once you get past it, you can't help but immerse yourself in the story and feel as if you're back in the 20th century during WWII. Saoirse Ronan is the narrator of the story and she was just 13 years old! For a girl that young, to be able to star in a movie that requires you to express a lot of feelings and act so brilliantly deserves a standing ovation. As for James McAvoy, let's just say I loved him even more after watching this. Seeing him in a suit, speak fluent French and wear a uniform in one sitting was too much for me. In a good way though. Oh, and Benedict Cumberbatch starred in this movie too! You know it's a good un' when he's there.

Anna Karenina: Told ya I was on a Keira Knightley binge. And period dramas, haha. To see Keira reunite with Matthew Macfadyen aka Mr. Darcy seven years after P&P is pretty darn amazing! A very tragic story that takes you in a whirlwind trip. Oh, I guarantee you, you'll also fall in love with Country Vronsky aka Aaron Johnson. This movie has an amazing cast, such as; Jude Law, Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson and Alicia Vikander (she's my fav). An amazing score too! A great depiction of Russia in the 1800's.

The Jungle Book: Guys, if you haven't watched this, you're missing out! I'm not surprised that this movie has a great rating, because again, not only does it have an amazing cast but the adaption is exactly the same as the book and the 1967 cartoon version. The kid who plays Mowgli is so talented and I friggin' love him. Any movie that is filled with animals will always get a thumbs-up from me. They're all so realistic too!

Eye in the Sky: I just watched this last week and boy did it break my heart. It's a thriller film that was produced by Colin Firth. For the millionth time in this post, it also stars a lot of highly known actors such as; Helen Mirren, the late Alan Rickman and Aaron Paul to name a few. All of their acting was amazing. Whilst watching it, I was tense the whole way through because the suspense was real, people.

Captain America: Civil War:  All I can say about this movie is how in love I am with all the characters here (and how awesome is it that Dr. Watson aka Martin Freeham is here too?!). Hilarious, intense and it also got me swooning a couple of times because Chris Evans is meltingly hot. I can't say who's team I'm on, really. I think neither because once you watch the movie you'll understand why. Despite not watching the second movie of Captain American and Avengers, I got along fine watching this. Definitely give this a watch, you'll not regret it, I promise! Soooo much better than Batman vs Superman. That was plain horrible. *rolls eyes*

Songs:

Pride and Prejudice Soundtrack: I listen to this when I workout, when I shower, when I'm studying, when I'm reading... Basically, I listen to this soundtrack to every single thing that I do. SO you know, it's a good un'.

Wild Ones by Bahari: As far as I know, this band is made out of three sisters, just like HAIM. Except, Bahari's voices are so calming and perfect for chilled out nights. Give this one a listen, it's so good!

When We Were Young by The Wild Wild: This particular song is what I jam up to when I'm feeling so happy and gleeful inside. So catchy too!

Confidence by P'ARIS: Again, the singer's voice is so calming and nice to listen to.

Food:

Fancy Schmency at Angus House: A very posh lunch my family and I had a couple of weeks ago. Great food, sadly the service wasn't as great. As for the company? It was lovely. The most intriguing thing about this lunch was who we encountered with. We met the father of the victim of a murder that occurred last January. Head on over to this post right here to read all about the scary intense murder that happened in a restaurant.

Earl Grey Ice Cream: I know, I know. You're probably thinking, "there's such a thing as an Earl Grey ice cream?!". I was astonished too when I first discovered this. It tasted heavenly. Again, I wrote a post about this restaurant that I went to with my bestie here.

Blueberry Ice Cream: Can you tell that I had an obsession for ice cream last month? Because I did. I even bought a batch of ice cream, despite having flu this past week. There's just nothing better than eating ice cream with great company, ey? Read the post here.

Books:

Pride and Prejudice: I've probably mentioned about P&P in this blog a thousand times now, but hey, I finally picked this one up and fell in love with it instantly. To  immerse myself in Mr. Darcy in an in depth detail is amazing. I love him, still. (Read my review here).

Jane Eyre: If you asked me Mr. Darcy vs Mr. Rochester, I wouldn't be able to answer that question. I love them both equally (I think). (Read my review here).

Much love, Ashley xx

  20. I thought I was gonna read, Pride and Prejudice, and Zombie. I just watched it this year and it was... Hmm... Kind of meh. And I already saw Captain America: Civil War too already. Definitely better than BvS IMO... That coming from a movie goer's perspective and not from a comic book geek's perspective.

Loving your month's recap & I watched two new shows this month off Netflix (I think) One was called Love & there's only the first season which is awesome, and then there's a second one that seemed to be an offshoot of Californication, and I can't remember the name. I think it was Streaked but not sure now! xx adaatude.com
