Our Final Day in Bangkok

How cute is this shirt?! (Btw, say hello to my sexy hotel slippers).
Before getting on with the post, I would just like to say, HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Set my alarm at 8 AM and woke up at 8:43 AM (yes I remember the exact minute I woke up). The reason why I woke up 40 minutes late was probably because I set my phone ringer to be set on low because I'm not a big fan of alarms, as does everybody.

Our last day in Bangkok. Very short, I know, wished that we stayed a few days longer. The plan for the day was for us to go on our own ways and not be cooped up as a group for the whole day. My cousin and my auntie went their own way for the day so we didn't really spend time with each other until later that day, so I got to spend my whole day with my mom and grandparents.

After eating breakfast, we headed out to Mahboonkrong (MBK) which is just a 10 minute walk from our hotel. Filled with electronics, clothing, food.etc. Basically they have everything in there and a lot of tourists were there too, so it's a must go if you're ever in Bangkok! I didn't buy anything from our trip there which was okay because there wasn't anything that caught my eye anyway. We headed back to our hotel before lunchtime because the stuff that my mom and grandparents bought was darn heavy! No way jose am I going to bring a ton of plastic bags to the mall that weighs as much as my dog.

Whilst freshening up and waiting my mom to do her thang, I managed to take some pictures of the view from our room. Not the most beautiful one, but I love the fact that I could hear the BTS passing us through every few minutes. Don't worry, they're not so noisy, so no disturbance during the night!

After gobbling up on Mos Burger (the one in Singapore is so much better), we headed out to the Siam Paragon, a department store that is filled to the brim with all cosmetic brands you'll ever know. Beauty aside, I had to take a few snaps of the stores inside the department store because it's so aesthetically pleasing to look at!

The colorful store that I took a snap of is Stylenanda. I know it from Jenn Im, who often wears their clothing in her videos. The store originated from Korea and I just wanted to see why Jenn loves them so much! So when I stepped in the beautifully colored store, I knew why she did. The sweaters there are of a great quality and oh so soft, but oh my were they pricy. I was thinking of buying one of the sweaters but didn't in the end because they're way too pricy and quite frankly, I would feel guilty afterwards to waste so much money on a sweater. But now, all I could think of is how much I want that sweater in my life... *sigh* life is hard for girls.

After a whole lot of window shopping and walking, we were parched. So off we go to Harrods to have afternoon tea. Very relaxing indeed. I was quite surprised that the place was packed, it seems that Thai people are more fond of their tea than us Indonesians. Interesting indeed. Couldn't resist some cheeky shots of the tearoom because holy beaut!

Alongside the tea that I ordered, which I think was the Arabic Rose Tea (so delicious), I ordered a side of plain croissant because I was feeling rather peckish by the time we sat down at the tearoom. Both the tea and the croissant was delicious and very satisfying for the stomach. My cousin and auntie then came around to the tearoom and we shopped a little bit around the mall and whilst they all continued their shopping spree, I headed back to my hotel because I was feeling super tired by then and walking just wasn't possible for me anymore. Before heading to the hotel, I bought myself a frozen yogurt called Budhi Belly (how cute!) and oh my did it taste good.

When I arrived back at the hotel, I got food poisoning. Very great indeed when you're about to board a plane the next day! This is when being in a Chinese family comes in handy. My mom always carries along tons of medicines when we're traveling, so she gave me these Chinese medicine for diarrhea and I was cured in just a few hours! Ha.

Well, that's a wrap on the Bangkok posts! Even if that was a short trip, felt great to be able to escape reality for a bit, because right now, my life's a mess. I really do hope you enjoy coming along with me despite it being quite eventful sometimes. And I hope you're all doing well. x

Much love, Ashley xx

  18. Great post, dear Ashley!
This totally brings back some memories. I visited Bangkok 3 years ago. The city is just incredible. I also spent much time at the Siam Paragon 😊 It's super fancy and the food is super cheap as well. I think, I'll have to visit it once again 😊
