A-okay

At times in life, you get to a point where you feel hopeless. Hopelessness then leads to loneliness, which then turns into self-hatred. And I think I can say now that it's all because I always compare myself to other people. Whether it's a friend, someone from school or even my sister. Even worse, someone I know through the internet, but not personally. It sucks, and I know it's something that you should avoid doing, but it's inevitable people! There is always one point in your life where you constantly compare your work to other people's. Life isn't perfect and I can say with the utmost honesty from deep inside me that when you're down, a greater up is gonna occur in your life. It may take awhile, but it's gonna be worth it, I promise.

So on that part particular Friday afternoon, I was out having lunch with my parents in a Japanese restaurant located at the 26th floor. You can imagine the view I got. It was absolutely breathtaking. To be able to see the city I live in from above is pretty spectacular. As I sat there thinking about life in general, I just felt so happy, when the days before that I was a total biatch to everyone around me. Including my dog, which doesn't happen often. I don't know you know, I just felt light and free from all the responsibilities that a 17-year old girl's got to make. I felt like I could take on the world. And that little bit of happiness is what mattered to me most that week. Because the few days was some of the best days of my life. Spent with the people and I love.

Look at that glorious croissant!

Friday and Saturday last week was so much fun. I laughed like a crazy person, got painful stomach cramps because of it. But let's be honest guys, that's the best kind of pain! Whether it's hanging out a friend, family, or even a boyfriend/girlfriend, know that whatever situation you're in, surrounding yourself with your loved ones really does make a difference. Sometimes it doesn't and they frustrated you to no end, but 90% of the time, their company makes everything better.

So the moral of this is basically as cliché as it sounds, everything's going to be okay. Whatever problem you're facing, they're going to get better with time. So don't give up just yet. Time, they're a cruel thing. Making us wait endlessly for the good thing in life. But trust me, the wait is worth it!

Sending big love to Brussels. So saddened by this horrifying attack that occurred last Tuesday. Stay safe to everyone living there, and remember, don't let the enemy win.

Much love, Ashley xx

  1. It's so nice to just sit and reflect sometimes isn't it! I love Japanese food, can't ever go wrong! I'm so horrified too by what happened in Brussels, I feel so hopeless just sitting at home. I can't imagine how relations of the people must be feeling.

    1. Yes! You're so right. Nothing can go wrong when you have Japanese food :)

I know. I was so shocked when I got the alert about it. Almost thought that it was a kind of sick dream that I was having. Horrifying event.

  2. I enjoyed your honest words! Thank's for sharing. I agree, it's difficult not to compare ourselves with other, but when we get really busy with our own interests and goals, it's much easier.

  8. Thank you for sharing! Everyone of every age seems to feel the same way at different points in their life and I think its true when we reflect back that something good seems to come out of every situation. Sometimes though it can be a challenge to go with the flow :)
