30 Minutes in England

Pickadaily. Said to be a replica of well London and a few other cities in the UK. After an hour inside the car and feeling quite tired after a whole day of shopping, it was refreshing to be able to step outside and breathe in the fresh air even though it was hot as hell outside. We headed to Pickadaily from Em Quartier, both malls are located in Sukhumvit, but they're quite far away from each other. Bare in mind that Sukhumvit is quite a large neighborhood in Bangkok, so don't be surprised when it takes you quite a while to go there.

Instead of rambling on and on like I usually do, let's just get on with the post and the whole load of pictures that I took while I was in "England", hehehe. Never gets old.

I felt so happy when I saw the red telephone booth. A far cry from the ones I saw in London, but this would do.

On weekends (not every single one though), there are markets going around the small village that is said to be like Portobello Market. Sadly, I didn't go to any markets in London and when we visited Pickadaily it was a weekday, not a weekend. Maybe next time we'll be able to visit the market!

Doesn't the fountain resemble the one in Piccadily Circus, though?! It looks a whole lot like it, so I was pretty impressed with that one.

Other than us roaming around the small village and peeking through closed shops, I also bought ice cream! Not only because it reminded me of my childhood, also because it was scorching hot and I just needed something cold inside of me. It was so hot that I could bite through the ice cream and finished it in less than 5 minutes. No joke.

Check out the first Bangkok post here, all about what we did before heading to Pickadaily. Heading out to our hotel to freshen up took an hour and a half (crazy!), but it felt so good to be able to wash off the sweat and sun out of my skin. I don't have any pictures of the markets we headed to that night, but holy moly did I buy a lot of things! And they were all so cheap! That made my night a whole lot better.

    1. Yes! Hahaha, it is different from London because the architecture isn't as detailed as the one there and isn't looking too old, but that's alright!

  6. Looks so cute. There’s so many replica places of the world in Thailand. I feel like you could "travel the world” just in Thailand a week haha I’ve never seen this place though. Maybe because it’s 40mins from my apartment with the traffic & I hate Bangkok traffic. I will definitely make a trip next time though! Love your photos.

  14. Haha this post is so bizarre, it's like Chinatown but for the Asian world 'Western Town'. Does that work? I hope you're enjoying all the delicious food in Bangkok!
