My Cup of Tea

A Festive Menu?! How cool is that!

After a long day, the perfect afternoon would be having afternoon tea with your friends. I've been to TWG a few times now, and I can definitely say that their tea and pastry is super duper good. When the outlet first opened, I didn't really like it, probably because I chose the wrong tea but now that I know what I love, I enjoy every single drop of the tea. (Silently dreaming about having this right now...)

They have tons of flavors of tea, so it's probably gonna take you sometime to choose your choice of tea. Don't worry though, because in the end, whatever tea you ordered would be worth it! I was there with a friend and my cousin, so we ordered quite a few pastry. We finished it all in a matter of minutes though!

Getting up close and personal

My cousin and I ordered the Vanilla Bourbon, which tasted magnificent. The vanilla and the bourbon mixed in makes the whole flavor mix in the tongue so seamlessly. My friend on the other hand ordered the Caramel one, which I didn't try because I don't really like caramel that much.

For the pastries on the other hand, both my cousin and I ordered Madeleines. I always order that because they have the best Madeleine in town! Other places I've tried, their Madeleine is either too sweet or doesn't have a lemon scent to it. I'm not usually up for cakes like this, but when my cousin forced me to try it a couple of months back, I fell in love with it instantly. Instead of ordering macarons, my friend ordered the pain au chocolat instead (she loved it).

Instead of going on and on (as I usually do) about how delicious the tea and pastries were, I thought I'd share to you guys about how much I loved the movie Victor Frankenstein. I'm not gonna share about it too much, but with how low the reviews were, I thought the movie would be super duper bad. But I loved it very much. James McAvoy is a total babe and his and Daniel Radcliffe's acting left my jaw dropping!

Not only that, but the setting of the movie was amazing as well. I love London (obvs), but London in the 1800's looks absolutely beautiful!

P.S, just wanted to say that the pastries came with whipped cream and jelly, but I prefer the whipped cream because it's so creamy, but not too overly creamy that it'd make you feel nauseous.

Overall, the afternoon tea I had at TWG was amazeballs. It was perfect mainly because after being in the theater for almost three hours, the warmth of the tea calmed me down and sort of made me a lot more fresher than I was before. I get so disoriented after watching a movie, so a warm tea and some delicious pastry was absolute Heaven!

Anyways, please be sure to tell me places you go for afternoon tea where you live! I get so curious how it looks like in different countries. ;)

Address: Plaza Senayan, Lantai 1, Jl. Asia Afrika, Senayan, Jakarta

Much love, Ashley xx

    1. Thanks! Yes, I agree with you. I guess it's because Americans prefer coffee more than tea! Too bad though, cause I bet the US would do a great tea place x
