5 Lipsticks to Fall in Love With1:42 PM
When it comes to trends, I'm usually the type of person who would be late into the game by a few months or something even a year! So this post will be filled with loads of nude/day to day colors (if you can't tell, I suck at describing colors) that I've been loving on my lips. I've accumulated quite a bit over the past year or so, may even say that I'm obsessed with them, but these five are ones that I've been coming back to every single week. Without further ado, let's get to know some of these lippies shall we?!
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Baci - $24
I just bought this lipstick a couple weeks back in Sephora, and I am in love with it. I first saw this either on Lily Pebbles' channel or another Youtuber - and my first thought of it was 'whoa, that is one gorgeous looking lipstick'. It took me a while to get this on my hands because when I was in Ulta a couple months back, this particular shade was sold out. Me being me, I thought it wasn't meant to be. Thankfully enough, a couple weeks back I was reunited with this shade and was happy enough that it was fully stocked!
The formula is great, not drying at all. With most liquid lipsticks that I own, they usually dry out a few hours after I applied it, but with this it didn't happen. I wasn't sure at first if the color would suit my skin tone or not as it is a sort of purple-ish nude color, but it all worked out in the end. The lipstick fades after a couple hours or so, but in the best way possible. So reapplication is needed with this lipstick, surprisingly I don't find it annoying at all - in fact I love it, because the applicator is so soft and it's so easy to apply!
Kylie Lip Kit in the shade Candy K - $29
If you don't know what this product is, where the hell have you been?! The Kylie Lip Kits has been the talk of (almost) everyone in the world for the past couple of months. Ordering it has been hell as they were sold out in a matter of seconds, thankfully my mom was lucky that one time whilst ordering it online and she managed to buy one for me. I somehow lost the lip liner which is a shame, because I've heard a ton of Youtubers saying that they prefer the lip liners than the lipstick itself, so it's a shame that I don't have it in my stash.
The line has loads of shades now, and I'm pretty sure Candy K was one of the first shades that she released. When swatching it on my hand, it comes out a little bit pink - but on my lips it's more brown than pink which I was pretty apprehensive about as I didn't think it fit my skin tone. After trying it on a couple more times, everything was fine and I began to love it as I wore it more often. I'm not even kidding, this lipstick stays all day long. It's hard to remove it and even after rubbing out my lips for a couple of seconds, a little bit of the product is still on my lips. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I'll let you be the judge of this!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in the shade Butterscotch - $16
As I've said a million times before, my sister and mom are what you would call - Sephora fanatics. And with being a fanatic they're also loyal customers to the store, alas they get a ton of testers after purchasing endless of products and this teeny weeny lipstick is one of em'. I'm not an expert when it comes to describing colors, but the website describes it as a "neutral peachy beige" color. I do have to say that this shade on the people with a darker skin tone would work wonders than me. I'm quite pale, so putting this lipgloss on its own will not work for me, I'll have to put it over a lipstick to give it a little more color to my complexion! Formula wise, it's great, but just a little bit sticky for my liking.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color in the shade Seduction - $8.99
There was a lot of hype on this product when it was first released, especially in the blogging world. This was the first ever lipstick that I bought from this range and I've gotta say that I was pretty apprehensive about it (as I always am with every single lipstick I buy, lolz), because I don't usually go for nude nudes that would wash out my complexion - thankfully this didn't do that at all! It's of a pink orangey shade that's not too orange, because trust me, orange lipstick on me doesn't look good. I managed to wear this every single day a couple months back and until now, I'm still in love with it.
It glides on the lips so smoothly that I wasn't sure if it was matte or not, trust me it's matte, and it's not drying at all! Which is always a thumbs up for me. I'm usually a bit eh about scents in lipsticks, but the scent of this one is soooo good. Reminds me a lot of Coconut Pineapple, which btw, is my favorite Thrifty ice cream flavor. ✌🏼
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color in the shade Embrace - $8.99
This was my third purchase of the Revlon Ultra HD range, and boy am I in love with it. On the packaging, the shade looks a tad bit mauve, reminds me a lot of these two lippies that I talked about a couple months back - surprisingly it's not mauve at all when it's on my lips. Instead it's more of a pink color, but not Barbie pink thankfully because that color ain't my favorite. Formula wise, it's exactly the same as the other two ones that I bought which is good, and as the day goes the lipstick fades so well too! A subtle pink that looks a whole lot like your natural lip color, just a tad with more color - because um, my lips are naturally very pale. *sobs*
Now I know most of these shades aren't Autumn-y except for the first two shades, but I'm in looove with them and can't seem to get my hands off them (lol sounds so weird). Anywho, do tell me if you ever try one of these lippies or have them already and tell me if you like them or not.
Always up for new lipstick recommendations, what's your favorite lippie at the moment?
Much love, Ashley xx
