Mug Shots (#2)

London is for famous for its monarch, pubs and tea! Another recent discovery that I found about the city was how great they are with their mugs. With tea, there's no doubt that their mugs would rock too. I went quite ballistic on my purchase of mugs (and a teapot). Was quite hesitant to add even more mugs to my collection (see my first mug shot post here), but when in London, get as much mugs as you can. And I've got to say, no regrets at all in buying all of these!

Now let's get one on one with the mugs, shall we?!

 The Doggies:

Sausage Dog Mug (similar here): I once had a sausage dog that was the same age as me, sadly he died when we were both 12 years old. I was never fond of him, he wasn't my favorite dog but I've got to say, he was a pretty great guard dog. When I saw this mug in Cath Kidston, my eyes turned into the heart eyed emoji. Didn't purchase it on my first visit to the store, but I came back a few days later (thank God the store was close to our hotel!) and brought it home with me. I mean how cute does the sausage dog look?! Wearing a raincoat and all. <3

Walking Dogs Mug: It's no surprise that Harrods has one hell of a collection of mugs. I've bought a few in the past year or so and I really love the quality of the China and how light the mug is. Sadly, the mug is now out of stock (boo!). Last year whilst I was in London, my mom bought me a wallet with the same motif and somehow I lost that wallet (boo x2). So when I saw the same exact motif on a mug, I had to have it. No, I needed to have it. Firstly, it's just too dang cute to not buy and secondly, they have a SHIH TZU on it too! No way in hell am I gonna come out empty handed, he he he.

The 'Sophisticated' One:

Sherlock Mug: I just knew deep down in my heart that I couldn't get out of the Sherlock Holmes Museum empty handed. I had to have one piece of souvenir out of it at least. And I thought to myself, why not add another mug to my collection? There were dozens and dozens of stacked mugs in the souvenir shop and I do have to say, it took me quite a while to pick out which one I wanted to take home. In the end, I chose this one filled to the brim with some of Sherlock's well known cases. Pretty cool, right?!

Alice Tait 'Map of London' Mug: I know, I know. Pretty clichĂ© of me to buy a mug with the map of London on it, but I didn't have one in my collection, so why not?! Plus, the illustration looks pretty dang cool and looks expensive. What I love most about it though is the three Queen's guards on the inside of the mug, such a quaint little detail that makes all the difference! For the price itself, I wouldn't count this as a pricy one because the ceramic is high quality, and it comes with the cutest box too!

Guards & Friends Trio Set: I'm a sucker for any cute prints, especially of London guards. Cath Kidston has got the best prints at the moment in store and I went a little bit crazy once again, he he. I have the glasses case in the same exact motif and couldn't resist buying this set! It may seem a little childish for a 17-year old to buy a patterned set to drink tea out of, but please don't judge me. Again, it's too dang cute!

Sausage Dog Teapot: Not gonna lie, there were a lot of teapots that I was eyeing whilst I was in London. Nothing though, nothing, beats the feeling of when I saw this Dachshund teapot. It was love at first sight! Of course, I was quite apprehensive at first if I should buy it or not as I was afraid if the box didn't fit in, in my luggage. Thankfully it did. The box that comes with it has the same motif and I'm just a happy gal with cute boxes and mugs and teapots that I've accumulated for the past month or so. :)

Kensington Palace Collection in 'Rose Place': This is by far, the most 'posh' thing I've ever bought in my whole entire life. The embroidered details on the fine china is said to be inspired by the Kensington gardens. Which, I'm totally not opposed to because I friggin' love Kensington garden. There's just something so delicate about this set that I totally fell in love with when I first saw it. Who knows, maybe one day I'll have tea with this one fine piece of collection with the Queen (or Prince Harry).

Well that was quite a lengthy haul... of mugs. Sound pretty boring, but I can't help my deep love for them, alright?! I've got to say, my mug collection has got to be the one thing that keeps me happy day in, day out. Now, I'll just have to try and resist not buying anymore mugs because I've got way too much in my collection as of now. I really hope you enjoyed coming along on this haul!

Which one of these mugs/teapot is your favorite?

Much love, Ashley xx
