British Museum

The British Museum has got to be one of my favorite places in London, aside from Kensington Gardens of course. The architecture, has got to be one of my favorite things about the museum! Very unique, as I've never seen anything like it before. The outside of it may look ancient, but the inside of it is half ancient and half modern. Pretty cool, right?! Take my advice very seriously though; if you're going there on a weekend, prepare to walk through the museum with lots of people in tow!

Be aware that if you plan on visiting every single departments in the museum, it'll take you probably the whole day to do so. Now since I had no time for that, I just visited one of my favorite departments in there; Ancient Greek and Rome. Also, a little bit of Ancient Egypt as well. I've always had an interest into these three subjects ever since I was in school, and well, to be able to see sculptures that are thousands years old was pretty amazing. Too bad you can't touch it!

The main star of the whole trip to the museum was of course, the Queen Elizabeth II Great Court. So darn beautiful and gosh, the architecture just gets to me! There's no way I could describe it other than that. Very artsy and great for your Instagram feed!

I've got a thing for pillars. I don't know why, but I find them rather romantic. I picture myself in the 1900's, strolling around the garden and then escaping the rain with a lover and found refuge by the pillars. Pretty weird, but hey, my mind doesn't stop imagining things. Things that aren't likely to happen! Ha.

All in all, my visit to the British Museum was a great un'! Doesn't hurt too that there are no entrance fees to the museum. I honestly could stroll through the museum all day long, but since it was so dang crowded, we had to leave before it closed and head out to Covent Garden! If you ever find yourself in the British Museum, do tell me!

Keeping it quite short on this post as I've been ill for the past two days and am not feeling 100% yet! I do hope you enjoy reading this post. :)

Also, came across this little pub right across the museum. How cute is it?! Major decor goals.

  6. So many headless figurines *shudders* though they're very interesting actually. Especially as an art student I'm always curious to know the backstory to why such things exist. The British Museum is indeed a very fascinating place!
