Furriously in Love at the Zoo
If there's one thing I love most in the world (other than family, friends, food. etc), it would be animals. I have a dog that I love to death and the love I have for wild animals is the same as the one I give to my dog. Okay, not so much, but I got to pet a tiger and he was such a babe. I stroked his fur and he made these purr/growl noises that was oh so cute!
The zoo is quite far from where I live, so we woke up early and headed out of our house at around 10 AM. The trip from Jakarta to Bogor was surprisingly free of traffic and because of it we arrived there at around 11 AM. Instead of going to the zoo straight away, we made a pitstop at this Indonesian/Chinese restaurant that I've visited frequently when I was small and ate brunch, or lunch really cause I ate two hashbrowns before leaving the house (ehehe). Afterwards, the trip from the restaurant to the zoo took us quite awhile because of traffic. After about an hour or so of sitting inside the car, getting bored of each other's company and listening to music from my phone, we finally arrived! Before heading to the safari trek though, I headed out to the restrooms (you do not want to know how many times I peed whilst I was there) and did my business. Trust me, before going on a long journey or doing something exciting inside the car, go the restroom beforehand! I've been traumatized by getting cooped up inside a car for 4 BLOOMIN' HOURS! Horrible experience that I don't want to relive ever again!
As we passed by all the animals, we were also able to give them food and I do have to say that I have a deep fear for their teeth (specifically zebras, llamas and camels). Also them slobbering all over the car window wasn't pleasant at all. Halfway through the safari, it started pissing it down there in the zoo so we had to hurry a bit but got encounter some gorgeous looking animals such as the lion, tiger and this cute looking animal that reminded me so much of my guinea pigs!
The funnest thing we did inside the park would probably be feeding the elephants. There were four of them roaming around the stage and because we bought two hefty plastics full of carrots, they surrounded my cousin and I! I had so much fun and in one occasion, accidentally touched the inside of its nostril. Needless to say, it was pretty disgusting, very wet and thick in substance (yuck!). They were a bunch of babes though, so I'm okay with that! When we finished feeding them, knowing that we still had half a plastic bag full of carrots, one of the elephants kept on staring at me and whisking its trunk at me, almost like saying, "Give the rest to me, you imbecile!". I didn't of course, because I didn't want to overeat. The outcome of this elephant's trunk whisking away in our direction was how much slobber went to us! Gah! Naughty elephants indeed (but I still love them).
We also got to encounter pony horses, and they were all so beautiful! I wanted to ride them but wasn't allowed because I weight more than 25 kilos! Used to do it often when I was small. As photographed, they were on their break, eating away some hay, and this guy came to them and started to touch its fur and because of the disturbance that came whilst eating, it tried to kick the guy with its leg on the back! Really love the sound of their clomps along the way.
Feeding the elephants was the funnest thing that I did. Another thing that I really loved our trip to the zoo was petting a baby tiger. Not gonna lie, I was pretty scared when lining up to take a picture with it, but once I sat down next to the furball and petted its fur, we were both calmed down. His fur was quite rough, but despite that I really loved that he made these purr/growling noises whilst petting him. Another cool encounter was seeing the monkey that's from The Jungle Book movie (the upcoming movie) and I think it was also in Planet of the Apes. A very strange face the creature has, still a ,very cool one to look at!
Other than that we also rode an elephant and a camel, and it was so much fun! The elephant not so much because the one that my cousin and I were riding decided to stop in the grass and ate, I guess. They stank too! They have ginormous feces that wow, smelled horrendous. Okay TMI, sorry!
Very thankful that once we entered the attractions, the rain stopped. Otherwise, we would've had to shelter ourselves in the café which sounds lame compared to hanging out with the animals.
That's the end of it, guys! This particular trip was so much fun, albeit a very tiring and wet one. It was fun because a baby was in tow in this trip and it made me happy that in her age, she got to discover different types of animals! Ps, the zoo's going to have pandas in the upcoming months, how exciting!
Adieu for now guys! Happy Sunday. :D

Those baby Elephants are too cute, I remember when one was born in our local Zoo last year I think and everyone rushed to see it and there were updates about him on the news haha! Those snow tigers are just so beautiful too look at. P.s. Did you change your blog or am I imagining things?

I know right! Too bad we can't pet them. Hahaha, baby elephants are quite rare these days, I think. Oh, I know right, and they had PINK paws! How cute is that?! Ummm, I didn't change anything, hahaha. :P

DeleteIt has been a long time since I've last visited the zoo. When I was a kid, I used to enjoy seeing all the animals and now I kinda feel sad about them. Being captured and away from their true nature, of that makes sense. Feeding elephants is the best part.

I used to go often when I was small too. Don't worry, the one that we have here is like their own habitat! Very spacious and so much greenery.

Hahaha :P it's weird to say, but I have a deep sympathy for animals more than humans most of the time. Yes! That's why I love it so much, we got to be up close and personal with them. :)
DeleteI haven't been to the zoo in ages! Looks like you had such a fun time! I'd be really scared to give them food though, you were def brave! haha

They sure are! Don't worry, the zoo, if you could call it that is placed far away from the city and is very large in size. So it's like their own habitat! x
