The City of Angels

Exploring your own city has got to be the best thing in the world - aside from exploring new countries/cities of course. I don't do it that often as the crowd of tourists in 3rd Street Promenade and the endless beaches in LA are places that tourists flog to every single day. On this occasion, my sister, mother and I drove down to DTLA and somehow found ourselves by Grand Avenue - aka the museum hotspot of the city. Whilst I don't love the arts inside The Broad, I can't help but admire the minimalistic Durian looking building they have. Very great for Instagram photos!

Alongside the museum, you can see that there are loads of food trucks parked and ready to serve. On my first and only visit to the museum, my sister got I an ice cream from one of these trucks on the hour and half wait. Kept my bloody sugar pumping!

We were feeling adventurous at the time, so on to the next destination it was ➡️  Griffith Observatory.

I promise you, there's nothing better than watching sunset over the Observatory. Pretty dang gorgeous. Just a tip, do arrive half an hour to an hour earlier as the parking there is just crap. There were hordes of people around when we arrived there (around 6:00ish or so), so it was pretty hard to find a perfect spot to get the right shot. Thankfully, I was small enough to traipse myself between people *lolz*. My second visit there really opened up my eyes to think how lucky I was able to live in this world despite its ugliness. Especially its ugliness. I reminded myself that whatever situation I will be in the future - transport yourself to this moment right here when everything was tranquil and just right.

So wherever you live, I suggest you go on and be a tourist in your own city! Nothing better than that. Bring a loved one, or maybe just yourself and a camera and all is well.
