The Peninsula & Greystone Mansion

First stop - let's have a cuppa shall we?!

As an avid tea lover, having afternoon tea in a slightly posh hotel was on my bucket list. I didn't get to visit any of the tea places whilst I was in London, because um, I was too busy admiring the city to drink tea (lol). So the day after my birthday, which was last Saturday, my sister surprised me by taking me to a very posh hotel called The PeninsulaTheir tea room is called The Living Room and can I just say how cozy and homey the interior is! Especially with a fireplace by the corner of the room. It was slightly packed as it was the Labor Day weekend, so be sure to reserve your spot before visiting!

When I said it was downright fancy, it was downright fancy. Before our tea arrived, we were given a choice whether we'd like wine or apple cider, and of course, as I am 18 years old, I could only order the cider. And it tasted so good! Mixed with the starter, which was the strawberry cream, the cider tasted divine on your tongue. As for the tea that I ordered, I had to go for their signature tea The Belvedere. The taste wasn't anything special, still a very lovely cuppa though!

Our second and final stop of the day - a stroll through a mansion!

Now I've seen and heard about the Greystone Mansion since last May. Didn't have the time to visit it the last time we were here, so we decided to go there after our afternoon tea as it's quite close to each other. Bare in mind that when you're headed that way, the GPS will lead you to a quite secluded parking lot with a park up North. When we arrived, we were quite confused and thought we were in the wrong place, turns out you just had to go to the right and you'll be seeing a view of LA from the top. You'll be stepped down into a staircase and enter the mansion through there. Bloody gorgeous!

There is no fee to go to the mansion, as the inside of it isn't open to the public. We roamed around the mansion for half an hour or so as a part of the mansion was closed to the public at the moment (every Saturday, I think) because of a wedding/birthday party. I was quite disappointed that we didn't get to roam through the whole area of the mansion, but eh, you can't always get what you want, right?! At least I still got to feel as if I was in an English countryside for a while.

Fun fact! The mansion has been used a setting for movies since the 60's. Here's some of the A-list movies that has been shot here; Arrow, Gilmore Girls, Spiderman 1-3, Revenge, The Social Network and Rush Hour to name a few.

It's nice to fancy up a little bit every once in a while, right?! And I certainly found two spots that made me feel regal in Los Angeles. Have a lovely Thursday lovelies! ❤︎
