Best of: May '16

Holy crap, how did May fly by like the wind?! Crazy that we're approaching June. Anyways, if you follow me on my blog, then you'll know that I've been in LA for the past couple of weeks and I had a lot of fun whilst I was there. Now because I was there for a couple of weeks, I didn't get too watch any TV shows or movies so there won't be any of that in this month's favorites. And the ones I did watch whilst I was on the plane were movies and TV shows that I've watched recently as I'm a creature of habit. Without futher ado, let's get on with the post shall we? :)

Songs:

This Is What You Came For by Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna: I was obsessed with We Found Love when it was first released a couple of years ago, so it was no surprise that I loved this one so much! So great to dance along with, and I especially love listening to it when I'm reading blogs/writing posts. Gets me out of a funk as well! Calvin and Rihanna should do more songs together because their songs are always so catchy and ones that don't get you bored too fast.

One Dance by Drake: Last December, my sister got me hooked with Hotline Bling. And now, she's got me hooked to this song as well. I don't usually listen to this type of genre in music, but eh, sometimes you just gotta broaden your horizon!

Sparks by Coldplay: I was putting Spotify on shuffle one morning and came across this song. I'm pretty sure this is an old song of theirs, but boy do I love it. So happy that I get to discover more songs from them. Hits me right in the heart this song.

Not Today by Imagine Dragons: What a heartbreaking song this is. The first song released from the Me Before You soundtrack and I can tell that I will run out of tears when I watch the movie. Give it a listen!

Unsteady by X Ambassadors: Okay, another song from Me Before You. Not gonna apologize because gosh, it's one of those songs that grips your heart and will never let go. Honestly guys, I don't know how I'm gonna survive watching the movie. It's gonna be like TFIOS all over again. Maybe worse!

Btw, remember how I was obsessed with the P&P soundtrack last month? I still love it and listened to it the whole airplane journey from HK to LA. :P

TV Shows:

Baby Daddy: Holy crap, this TV show always cracks me up! I'm watching the latest season with one more episode to watch and I'm so, so happy that Danny and Riley are finally together! Sorry for the spoiler, can't help it. They're a match made in heaven, really. I can't wait for the next season to air!
Food:

Donuts at Café Dulce: I love donuts. Now I'm usually the type of gal who would stick to the glazed flavor and forgo the unusual flavors such as green tea donuts, oreo donuts, but this one I fell for immediately two years ago when my sister introduced me to it. My favorite one from the café is the Fruity Pebbles one. It's crunchy on the outside and the inside is filled with whipped cream and oh my does it taste glorious! Definitely eat this if you're around the area.

Address: 134 Japanese Village Plaza Mall, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Tart: Relaxing after a day running around town in this restaurant felt great. Plus, I got to eat my favorite Chicken & Waffle. (read my post about it here).

Moments:

Reuniting with my Three Musketeers: These three little piglets has been in my life for three years now and I love them to bits. Just look at how fat they all are! They're one of the things I look forward to when I head out to LA. <3

Back with the T: Even though we bicker (a lot), it's always to reunite with your sister after a couple of months of not seeing each other. And this time, it was a rather special visit one because I got to see her graduate from her dream school with my own eyes! (Read the post here).

In the Land of Books: There's just something about a room filled with books that leaves you feel so content and peaceful deep inside. And that's exactly how I felt when I visited The Last Bookstore. A very unique take on a bookstore filled to the brim with (you know it!), books. There were a lot of people there and I wasn't the only one who was left flabbergasted by the amount of books inside one building. They have every single genre there which is amazing!

Address: 453 S Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90013

Going Back in Time: ....at The Getty. I won't get much into this as I wrote two massive posts on it. So ya know, check it out if you want to. ;) [Part I] [Part II]

Suffice to say, the month of May was a great un'. One of those months where I just let myself be free and be happy. And one thing I've learnt this month is to always cherish the moments you have with your loved ones. Keep them close even though their presence might annoy you from time to time. But hey, no relationship is perfect right? There's no such thing as perfect in this world, really. Also, if you're ever worrying about something and losing sleep over it? Don't. I went through that twice this month and when I went through the obstacle it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Worrying leads you to nowhere-ville.

I hope you had a great May. Cheers to June! I know it's gonna be a pretty epic month as I'm going on a little holiday with my family to my favorite city in the world. Traveling changes you for the better. x

Much love, Ashley xx
