Take a Walk

Feeling slightly drowsy and in dire need of a nap, instead of letting jetlag win, I let myself out of the house and took a walk in a park nearby my house. The park was filled with kids and elderlies who were doing their evening exercises, and I was glad to be one of them. Well, I wasn't really exercising, just took a walk and admiring the view. That's totally fine though! Let your muscles work their thing, even if it's just for a walk.

There were a few ducks and a geese walking around the park which was quite cute! But, the geese scared the crap out of me with its squawking, and at one point, it felt as if it was following me around to the other side of the park!

Parks, especially ones with a stunning view such as this one brings me so much joy! Not even exaggerating. If you asked me earlier this year if I liked to be one with nature, I would've answered you with a big shake of my head and a big hell no on my forehead. That all changed after I watched Pride & Prejudice. Pretty weird, but as I watched it over and over again and admired the greenery of the English countryside and the chirping birds, I fell in love with how serene and peaceful it is.

Now I wouldn't mind walking down the park for hours and am even thinking of glamping in a beautifully scened out forest or national park! My favorite walks by the park by far has got to be one I did two months ago in Kensington Gardens (read my post about that here). Nothing is going to beat that, because my oh my, the view and the swans looming around the Round Pond... it was perfection. At least not for a while!

Taking a walk has got to be the most relaxing and serene thing to do in life. Whether you're trying to escape reality or just be one with nature, it's the best way to end the day. Some people jog/run to destress the day away, unfortunately I'm not the greatest runner on Earth, so a stroll through the park will do just fine for me! Take it from me, go on a walk this week and admire your surroundings. No matter where you are, there has got to be at least one beautiful thing that you'll encounter along the way.

What do you do to end the day on a good note?

Much love, Ashley xx

  1. This is so lovely Ashley, what a beautiful place! Sometimes if you're not feeling the gym, just going for a walk is the perfect antidote. I always feel like exercise doesn't always need to be high energy, it is just as good for ya taking it a little slower. Me and the boyf felt exactly the same last night so we made our way down to the lido and went for a swim! It was SO lovely and relaxing, we need to do it more! Immy x

    1. Thank you so much, Immy! Yesss, I'm not a gym type of gal and prefer walking instead of lifting weights in front of a dozen people, hahaha. Aw, that sounds lovely! x

  2. The pictures are beyond stunning. You're incredibly lucky to have such a pretty park close to where you live. On most days, I like to end the day with a relaxing shower and a crossword. It takes my mind off of everything else! Looking up random things on pinterest helps too!

  7. I love going on walks when I'm feeling stressed or worried about something. It's nice to get some fresh air and breathing space. I also quite like going on a drive, stopping and sitting at random points like in the hills and things... Really enjoyed reading!
